In African traditions, night has never been synonymous with absence. It is the time of spirits, of decisions that ripen, of truths that can only be seen by closing one's eyes. Today, the digital world also produces a kind of night: a saturation of data so dense that we can no longer distinguish the essential from the noise.

The Black woman, however, knows. Her asymmetrical, semi-open gaze stems from this philosophy. She chooses what she looks at. She filters. In this world that is racing ahead, she is what the ancients called the guardian of the threshold: the one who decides what enters and what remains outside. Neither in the past, nor swallowed by the future. On the edge. And that's where everything hinges.
